Website for English learners?

Today I wandered into an interesting LJ-shku (I decided to remove the link, otherwise tell me that I'm promoting).
I liked the idea - a new word is periodically published with transcription and examples of use, or some kind of rule (for example, how article titles are written).
Have you come across something similar, but updated more frequently?

Please correct the title to one of the two options that I think are correct: "Site for English learners", or "Site for Russian learners".

you can subscribe to twitter.
There are a lot of such services. There is even an urban dictionary: twitter.com/urbandaily

I use Yandex.Dictionary with words unknown to me. Here and transcription, and pronunciation, and examples of use for most of the not very tricky words.
