Webpack: How to use Hot Module Replacement in production?

I'm interested in how to use Hot Module Replacement in production.
Webpack's website says that Hot Module Replacement can be used in production.
All the examples that I found on the Internet talk about using webpack-dev-server.
However, the word "dev" confuses me here.
So for Hot Module Replacement in production, too, use webpack-dev-server or what?
