Web design current trends from scratch, where to start?

Hello masters.
We need your help in terms of web design, namely - to throw literature on it (preferably fresh).
I have experience in the back-end in the front-end, I never really climbed at all, I can do it, a simple monochromatic mobile design without any bells and whistles like touch links - no more.
I know HTML.
So, where do I start, then?
Thanks in advance.
ps In Google I found only "straight from scratch" and examples of creating layouts in Photoshop.
But I don’t even understand, to be honest, why they should be made there and how to endure such things later.

Good school. And work with fonts, and colors, and new methods of interaction with the interface, and components, and everything is chewed up for both designers and developers.

You can generally ignore the practice of creating layouts. For someone who knows HTML and CSS, creating a layout will only slow down the production process. If you are not familiar with CSS yet, start by getting to know the frameworks: Bootstrap, Foundation, Bulma - this will greatly simplify the task. After gradually learning the principles of CSS, stylize the components of the framework to suit your ideas. And, of course, it is worth browsing the web design galleries, this will help you understand the current trends and make it easier to find non-obvious solutions.
