Tsisok has a completely standard implementation of IPSec (as an option - with L2TP). If it's "cheaper" - look in the direction of some Mikrotiks and the like. Surely dd-wrt will do as well. If everything is not so bad with the budget, then you can really take 8XX, just pay attention to performance.
Well, how would it make sense to update the software ... To say "12.4 (15) T5 is five years out of date" is to say nothing. The last representative of that line of software is 12.4(15)T17, and besides bug fixes, there really wasn’t anything there for 12 episodes. When using new functionality, you risk getting a lot of adventure out of the blue…
