Visual C# Express 2010

Where is the license key stored? There is a key, but the environment itself does not start and does not allow you to enter it, the installation is clean.

Reports the following, "Invalid license data. Reinstall required."
Already and so and so reinstalled, where to dig is not clear.

Solution.

Download and install the subinacl utility from Microsoft. Open and run it on the command line with the following parameters

once
/subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Licenses /setowner=everyone
and twice
/subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Licenses /grant=everyone=f
.

Next, open the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Licenses section in regedit and delete all keys in it. We also go to the access settings (permissions) of the section and set write access for the system and all other groups.

We reinstall the studio with administrator rights.

Voila, everything should work.

In order not to enter the key after installation, but to register it automatically, we do the following: we find the setup.sdb file in the installation files, find the [Product key] section in it and insert our key without spaces into it.
