Virus infected video?

2 questions:
1) My editor suspects that he has contracted a virus. I downloaded his video from google drive today. Could it be that his video got infected and downloading it to my computer would put me in danger?
2) I also always wondered if an infected video is posted on YouTube, will those who download it using some kind of ummy or 4k video downloader get infected?
