VirtualBox: Accessing the local server on the host machine from the guest OS. How to setup?

There is a set:
1) Virtualbox OSE
2) Ubuntu - host OS
3) WinXP - guest OS
4) Web server on host OS, accessible from it at: 127.0.0.1 : 8888/
Question:
How to configure guest OS access to the web server on host OS?

127.0.0.1 cannot be seen from the guest. You must either make apache listen to the interface with a real ip-shnik (on eth0), or fence the virtual network and force apache to listen on vboxnet0 ( www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch06.html#network_hostonly ).
