Version control for documents with custom interface?

Hello!
Can you please tell me what to read / use to implement document version control (in the form of html) and, if possible, implement it in the following interface:

Keep a version of the document / file, and remember what, by whom and when it was changed, statistics is possible.

In practice, there can be problems comparing more significant changes than two sentences - then the pages move one relative to the other and then often the visual comparison becomes useless.
