UPS maintenance?
Colleagues, good day!
There is such a task: to organize regular diagnostics, maintenance, repair and disposal of all used UPSs. We use APC UPS, located in St. Petersburg.
Please advise a good company / service center that would provide quality service. I ask because my colleague had a negative experience with one organization and would like to get advice from experienced people.

I would suggest buying the batteries yourself and changing them. There is nothing complicated there, the batteries are looked for at a time.
It seems to me that 80% of the problems will be solved.
Recycling is just a question.
At one time, I also dealt with the UPS:
1) Periodically (once a month at least) you need to do a full discharge / charge cycle of the batteries. By the way, such a scheduled (scheduled) training mode is available in all (even in the most ancient of 2000) uninterruptible power supplies of the mentioned APC Smart line, you just need to turn on and adjust the frequency and response time;
2) really suitable batteries are searched for and changed at a time. Don’t see the “branded” battery packs (from the same Smart series from APC) - if you pull out your native batteries from it and tear off the APC stickers, under them you will find the most common BB Battery , not even 10-year-old, but 5-year-old ( life time). And they cost many times more;
3) dispose of them yourself - look in St. Petersburg for points of acceptance of lead batteries (meaning car batteries), which also accept batteries from pespereboynik (i.e. have a license for processing these) - you will earn from 20 to 50 rubles per kg. I called the Moscow office of APC - for a long time the girl could not say anything intelligible about the company's battery recycling program - they say we will accept them from you, and what happens to them then - no idea;
4) it also happens that over time, relays can get hooked - switching to batteries does not always start to work - you will have to carry it to a replacement service.
Threat during the diagnostics of ups, I found out that using the APC Smart 2200 you can boil 9 liters of water (three 3-liter potters)
