Unity, why doesn't it support jdk?

Decided to make a game for Android. I downloaded a new unit (it was 2018), installed sdk, ndk ... And, in fact, the jdk itself. Writes that it is not supported. What is the reason? Need to download directly the newest version of Unity? Java version 1.8.0. Unity version 2019.3.
