Unable to install debian. Why?

Hello.
I can't install debian on an acer extensa laptop, neither 7 nor 8.
Installation is in progress, and hangs on configure dpkg.
How to be?

Hangs to death? Disk rustling? does it react to num lock?
in the second console, if top is run, what can be seen?
OFFTOP: I am for the mainstream - RedHat, and in this case - for Fedora.

What ISO image is the installation from?
Once in Debian, half of the images (especially the network installation) are not functional from birth. Then they write: "Oh, they messed up."
If the laptop is from new models, then this may be related: Debian is the most conservative (read: outdated) distribution.
Try another advanced distribution: Fedora, OpenSUSE, ...
