Can ActiveX work under Linux?

There is a piece of iron - a video recorder, its web interface uses ActiveX for operation and naturally works only under IE.
Is there any way to get ActiveX to work under any other browser on Linux?
VirtualBox, Wine, remote desktop connection is not suitable unfortunately…

Saw at FireFox a plug-in for ActiveX.
