UI/UX designer at UpWork – is it worth it?

Hello friends! Very often I read about how good it is on UpWork, how people earn thousands of dollars a month there, and in general go freelancing there. One caveat - 99% of them are programmers, coders, often front-end + God forgive me, Wordpress.

I am a designer. UI/UX. I DO NOT LISTEN. There was one client at UpWork (however, the task was to design the logo and identity). Every time I go to UpWork, inspired by all these conversations, I understand that everything is not so good in the field of design, because of this, I quickly close UpWork and do not return there for some time. Most orders in the web design category are, in fact, orders for turnkey websites, layout and the notorious Wordpress. I even put the word "Wordpress" in the minus in my search. There is a feeling that orders for design and engineering are at a minimum.

Hence the question. Is it worth it to spend time and effort working on UpWork as a designer without layout skills. How developed is the market there? Are there enough customers and orders? Maybe there are people, real designers, with a portfolio, experience and a pumped up profile on UpWork. Who really works there as a designer and earns a good stable income.

Thank you.

Do you understand that there are 100% designers who successfully earn money there?
The question is, can you offer something that will make you take orders?
They can tell you here "no, it's not worth it" and will you believe it? And if they say "yes, it's worth it" will you believe it too?
It is impossible to give a definite answer to the question.
Some of my friends worked there and made good money. Now they are gone - there are fewer orders for them. Does that mean you shouldn't go there? I do not think so, because their experience is not an indicator for your decisions.

You have an account, you already work there, you can see all the available jobs, why are you asking if there is a job there, how much it costs and if you already know the answers.
