Ubuntu on an external hard drive
I want to install Ubuntu on an external hard drive. But I can't decide which drive to buy: regular usb or eSATA (I don't have it on my motherboard)?

I would choose a controller + an external drive that has both esata and usb. The difference in speed between esata and usb is quite large, of course it will be more comfortable on esata.
Well, based on the fact that ESata is much less common than USB, I would take USB
the controller with eSata costs a penny, and the speed is higher.
Take an external USB hard drive from someone, put it in, take a look. If you don't like it, buy yourself an eSATA

the eSata controller is not needed if the mother has a regular sata connector. many pockets are equipped with an adapter in the form of a bar with an eSata hole for the back panel (http://www.satacables.com/html/sata-pci-brackets.html like in the picture with red laces, only single port) sata-eSata If the owner is not embarrassed by the “tail” sticking out of the system unit, the
ideal solution is eSata + USB, in case you want to connect the screw to someone. I have several inexpensive Agestar pockets (http://www.agestar.com/english/products/3cb3ah1t.asp like this only USB 2.0) - the presence of eSata turns it into a wonderful device, without it it would be an ordinary UG.
