Ubuntu + FF 48 + unsigned extension?

As you know, with FF version 48, it removes the ability to include unsigned extensions.
If you want to use unsigned extensions - put special. version and manually update it.
Somehow this does not inspire me at all, so I'm thinking what to do ...
In general, there is Ubuntu, FF 48 and an unsigned extension.
Solution options:

  1. specialist. version - as I wrote, this option does not suit me.
  2. publishing your extension is also not an option.
In fact, I took a ready-made extension, tweaked it to fit my needs and use it. Spread - this is plagiarism, my edits are small, they don’t pull on a separate extension. The review was left with a proposal to supplement the functionality, and a link to the project on bitbucket - the author deleted the review (or maybe not the author deleted it).
  3. somehow sign your extension.

Option 3 would suit me best - how do I sign an extension without publishing it on https://addons.mozilla.org/?
