Ubuntu does not see the MTS modem, how to fix it?

Good!
The essence of the problem is in the title ...
Here is the system:
Notebook DELL Inspiron 15 3000 Series Hardware

In the menu where network connections there is no item (for mobile connections), although I remember that they were on another beech:

not really "rummage" :)
Thanks in advance!

@mikes

do lsusb or lspci and find out the modem model, then use this model to look at the packages necessary for operation (driver / kernel module) and install them .. look for usbmodeswitch

It's hard to figure out what menu you're looking at, but it looks like it's Network Manager...
Before establishing a connection with it, you need to be sure that:
- your device is seen at all:
$ ls usb
...
$ dmesg | tail -n100 | grep usb
...

- it switched from installation CD-ROM device to AT modem mode:
$ ls /dev//dev/ttyU*
...

$ ls /dev/ttyACM*
...

It all depends very much on the specific type of modem that you do not specify.
See Installing and Configuring USB Modems
PS Almost all modems can be made to work...but be aware that there are a limited number of modems you can't get to work on Linux.
