Ubuntu 15.04 is not installed on a laptop, why?

Acer Aspire 2014 laptop i3 dual core. 2 GB of RAM. disk 500GB, 350 free.
downloaded the official release of Ubuntu 15.04 - 64bit.
The laptop is currently running release 13.10+gamepack (ualinux).
uploaded the downloaded image to an SSD connected via usb.
boots from the SSD normally, offers to try without installation or install.
without installation, the norms are loaded.
I try to install - shuts up on the choice of hard disk layout.
the mouse rotates the pointer and that's it, without progress.
what could be?

Download without installation and partition from there - gparted utility.

downloaded and installed 15.10. 64bit.
started the installation overnight.
finished in the morning. all OK.
just had to wait.
