Turning on the boiler?

Hello. The question is: is it worth bothering with a triac to turn on a 1200-watt boiler, or can you get by with a 10-Amp Chinese relay?

Of course the relay! The triac is generally for other tasks, where frequencies are needed starting from tens of hertz at least. For example, in power supplies, in any power converters. And, if you just need a key, you don’t need a frequency above a couple of hertz and there are no strict requirements (in milliseconds) for switching delays, then there is a relay for this (for a very long time).

If there is a triac, then you can triac, if there is a relay, you can relay. If there is both, then a relay is better. But this is in the event that the algorithm of operation "turned on-heated-turned off", and if "keep the set temperature" then definitely a seven-storer

The main thing is that the relay can withstand the appropriate current. And so of course you can use a relay.
