Transferring data on the back via FTP is bad?

Hey guys. I worked for a year at the front, now I need to deal with backing again and raised the old topic, is it worth using FTP for transfer on the server. I came across an article that these are all the practices of dinosaurs, I don’t remember the details, but it’s not in vain that it is removed from PHP configs. What do you think?

So why don't you like rsync, scp and others? In addition to security issues, as for me, ftp is simply not convenient to use when there are more secure and advanced alternatives.
