What do you think, if you take a computer (or rather a router on Linux), plug in a USB TV tuner, install TsPlayer (and configure what you need), feed it a playlist with a list of channels and connect it to a TV via a coaxial wire, will everything be possible? Is it good to watch TV and change channels with the remote?
Has anyone tried this?

In theory, this is possible. In practice… it is also possible.
If I had set myself such a task, I would have done something more interactive in terms of rewinding the video, etc. And here it’s already better when there is a home-made media player that can receive commands from the remote control. In general, a flight of fancy can be developed for a very long time. If you know how to write programs, everything is easier.
