To the Internet via a server abroad via a secure tunnel

Given:

1. a home laptop connected to the network via an asus wl500g router.
2. Virtual machine hosted in one of the European countries (debian).

Need:

Go to the Internet as if through a virtual machine. Those. so that various location gizmos would determine the location of the virtual machine.

Suggested solution:

set up a VPN server on debian and a client connection on Windows.

Maybe some advice?

Thank you.

@Alex_At_Net

there are at least three options:
1) VPN (for example OpenVPN)
2) SSH tunnel
3) Proxy
Instructions for any of these options are present in huge quantities on the Internet, including on Habré.

OpenVPN is easily raised with the tun module. If virtualization is through XEN, then no problem, and OpenVZ does not allow you to manually connect modules.
I myself use OpenVPN to the minimum VPS (on firstvds) for the purpose of protection against interception in Open WiFi networks. Quite normal.

I have been using 2 solutions for a long time:
1. VPN - OpenVPN
2. iSec (http://isecnet.com) - anonymous proxy with encryption (as a backup p.1)
