Timekeeping of working time

We select a freelancer for work. We want to pay by the hour. The question is in the task, how to track how much time the freelancer actually spent on developing the task? Taking a word is not our option.

Somewhere they heard that there is some kind of program that keeps timing + takes screenshots in the process. If anyone has experienced something similar, please share your experience.

One of the best services I've come across is tahometer.com , which is free for one user. Much less functional, but already completely free option - worktimer.co.uk

Do you want to put a program on the freelancer's computer that will take screenshots and send it to you? I don't think anyone would agree.
