Thesis topic related to the web

I understand that the question sounds a bit idiotic, but such requirements are at work. But could you at least suggest directions in which one could write a Ph.D. thesis related to the web? I am attracted to web development, interfaces, to a lesser extent - web architecture. Unfortunately, I cannot imagine what could serve as a topic for a dissertation in these directions. I don’t want to engage in profanity, but higher mathematics or, for example, electronics is not mine. I would be grateful for useful resources, and for my own examples.

Well, the first thing that comes to mind is some kind of development in terms of protection against DDOS. But it's mostly ter.ver, simulation, etc. (in terms of a mathematical model), cool ideas. There must be some know-how for disera.
It is unlikely that php / css-frameworks or CMS ki will be given a ride. Although about 5 years ago I heard people received candidates for modules for oracle, muscle, etc. (although there were already analogues on the Internet then)
