Notebook HP650, one fine summer evening, it stopped working when he left the house - remained in sleep mode, came home - the laptop was dead, no signs of life.
I disassembled the laptop - it smelled burnt, removed the motherboard - some chip burned out (probably related to power),
there was nothing to do - I gave it for repair (they asked for 5000, it's expensive, considering the price of the laptop itself, but oh well, the main thing is to work)

I took it from the repair (turns on), brought it home, connected the HDD - I start it - it seems to start but the signal does not go to the monitor, some kind of bug, it starts in a strange mode, took out the HDD - it turns on, there is a signal on the monitor, after dancing with a tambourine (inserting, taking out hdd, connecting it to another laptop ..) the laptop still turned on, worked for almost a month in non-stop mode (only hibernation), but I had to turn it off for 5 minutes, I start it - again there is no signal to the monitor just like the first time times (when it did not start after repair).
Again for repair (now with hdd), under a local guarantee, they again replaced something there, it starts up, brought it home - it worked for 2 weeks, did not turn it off (sleep mode), I had to reboot and again something went wrong, now the screen is in artifacts, stripes - after turning on all white with black stripes and slowly a black veil starts to fall from top to bottom,
there is no more guarantee, I opened

Almost certainly, the laptop woke up in a bag to update the system, overheated and died (I remember a story from the Internet when a person’s laptop was so filled with chocolate).
At that moment, a lot of things could die in it, the screenshots almost certainly show the death of a video card and / or display controller ... I can’t imagine how such things can be detected and repaired effectively.
I'm afraid the solution can be comparable to the cost of a new one, but in fact it will be a new one, because it's right to replace the entire motherboard.
