The concept of "conceptual data model of the subject area". How to understand this?

I am writing my thesis. When defending a thesis, a presentation is also required. To the requirements of this presentation, I see that the presentation must include a description of the conceptual data model of the domain .
My thesis is devoted to pattern recognition. Namely, handwriting recognition. There is a program that is trained to recognize handwritten letters. The input is a picture with letters and the algorithm performs recognition. Various algorithms are used. But what should I include in the description of the conceptual domain data model in my case? I don't quite understand what that means. What do they really want from me?

In simple words, a conceptual model is a set of concepts, objects and their properties to give listeners a general idea of what this area is and what technologies are used there.
Specifically, in your case, it is necessary to reflect the following information in the presentation:
1) Define what an image is in general, how an image is built and what image recognition means specifically in your case;
2) At the level of the idea, to show what methods generally exist and what disadvantages exist in existing methods.
3) At the idea level, tell your image recognition method.
