The choice of switches for the "smart home"
Good day to all!
There was a desire to gradually modernize your home in the theme of a smart home.
I want to start with light switches. According to the plan, put switches that can work both conventional (by hand) and remotely.
An idea comes to mind to combine them into a network via X10 (data transfer via 220V) and install a controller. I do not want to use the network over the radio channel yet.
Dear, tell me what solutions exist in this area, and are such devices dangerous - after all, they are embedded in the walls and constantly hang on 220v (voltage surges and surges)?

X10 is pretty old technology. It is rarely used in new installations.
Quite expensive solutions use KNX-based components.
All major European manufacturers support it.
ABB and Jung have dropped prices a lot over the past year.
Zennio has always been a budget solution for its area.
To save money, you can try to negotiate with the installer (they have good discounts on components) or buy it yourself in one of the European stores. Switches come in a variety of designs.
The solution is very reliable and indestructible, there will be no 220V anywhere on the switches, it integrates with anything (now I have a project for an office on a Crestron-KNX bundle), but it is quite expensive.
Solutions on radio channels (ZigBee, Z-Wave ...) are trying to be installed where wires cannot be pulled. Many conditions must be met for such a system to work normally. And it really "put" radio interference.
