The charge circuit in the laptop is faulty. Causes?

Good afternoon.
Yes, the question is not quite on the profile, but there will certainly be some kind of answer, who with the insides of computers on "you".
The laptop worked in the evening, and as I usually do, I closed it, thereby putting it to sleep, but in the morning it refused to turn on. One note - the laptop was turned off from the network, thereby thinking that the battery was dead and the charging was dead, but no, a defect was detected in the service center - "Charging circuit is faulty", the work "repairing the motherboard" is listed in the act.
They did it, okay, it worked for 2 weeks, but yesterday the same misfortune happened, only now, in order to sweep away all sorts of oddities, like power surges (although it was not connected to the network the first time), I always put it in the network through a filter.
In both cases, a phone was connected to the USB for charging, and this time - a power bank, and at the time of going to sleep and until the morning, one of these devices was connected to the laptop.
And, in fact, the question is:
The sleep of a computer connected to a USB charging device - could this somehow cause damage to the power controller?

1. Using USB to charge some powerful consumers is basically a bad idea. Use their native chargers for this.
2. What lies behind the "Faulty charge circuit", "motherboard repair", you can guess for a long time, in fact, and, accordingly, about the real causes of the problem.

That is, you connect the above devices for charging to a laptop?
