Tabs analog from vim for Emacs

Hello!
Tell me, what is the generally accepted way in Emacs to quickly switch the environment - a set of windows in a frame? That is, to put it simply - I need an analogue of tabs from vim or virtual desktops from Gnome / KDE. tab-bar-mode is not the same at all. As far as I understand, the way out is to create new frames, but this is also inconvenient and requires too many unnecessary movements.
What ready-made solution can be found in this case?

Repeated careful googling found elscreen - this is exactly what was needed. Thanks everyone for the replies!

And what prevents keyboard shortcuts from switching buffers in an open split? When you use tabs, you do the same thing, you just see a list of open buffers (tabs).
I usually have a directory tree split on the left, buffers are 1/3 of the screen horizontally and 2/3 of the current buffer along with repl

You can also try using tmux.

Ido mode. And you don't need any tabs.
