Tablet with which OS to choose for an elderly person?

I choose a tablet for my grandfather. Grandpa is far from all this. It will be used (I hope) for watching movies, audiobooks, music, news and possibly the Internet.
The biggest concern is usability.
There are very few solutions for the elderly, both on Android and on windows 10.
Android needs a good and convenient shell.
On windows 10 - an omnivorous media center (is this solved by codecs in the case of applications from the market)? Something like windows media center, plex.
Now I'm leaning towards tablets with Windows and a keyboard included. Because there is a full-fledged Windows and a tablet mode. I also hope that they will still support Android applications. But the applications from the windows store leave much to be desired. So I could not find a multimedia player so that in Russian it is convenient and simple and I ate everything.
What apps did you install for your grandparents? Which OS is easier for them to make friends with?

iPad take, you can not even the first freshness. Only one button "Home", it is for you and the menu and exit from the application. It is easy to learn from them, because everything is intuitively clear, experts are working on them in the field of usability. Yes, and unlike Android, you do not need to constantly clean the cache with Cleaner and install anti-virus crutches. iPad - what out of the box, what a year later is equally functional. And a plus for an elderly person will be a high-quality display.
If I took my own, I would stop at iPad mini 2 or iPad 4.
Especially since your question indicates targets that do not need a keyboard (other than the Internet). And then, it will be easier for grandfather to control his voice and point his finger at the links that Siri will offer in Google.
And again, on Windows, you can pick up viruses, which will slow down the device and possibly limit some functions.

It seems to me that a tablet on windows is an ideal option, I set up the tile large as it should be Skype, browser, Sberbank, a couple of games, everything is simple and clear. I myself recently bought a Lumia 640, I like it very much, for me it is much more convenient and better than the same android and you know for sure that it will be updated regularly. I tried win10 on a computer, so no codecs and players were needed for mkv and the rest loses with a standard player. It will be a shame if microsoft turns off the mobile segment, I will hope that they will still break through.

And what are the alternatives?
Tablets require finger control.
Android has no alternatives.

As an option, let the father take a closer look and decide on the usability of the device. Give him a choice of all three OC and let him use it. I remember once a friend gave my grandmother an ipad and explained how to use safari and Skype, while there were no complaints, but this does not mean that you should take an ipad. It happens that older people are afraid to press something superfluous, afraid to break it or some kind of angry exclamations from our side.

IMHO the main reasons to choose Android or Windows is the ability to fine-tune for yourself and "advanced" use cases. For those who need to just work and work clearly - iPad. I would take the first one for myself. I can’t use a device over which I don’t have full control and which cannot be used as a [almost] full-fledged PC, and I would feel sorry for my grandfather (I would prefer to protect it from surprises, viruses, brakes, UX heterogeneity, the need to understand the nuances) and gave him second.
