System programming is no longer needed (died out)?

What do you think about systems programming? Is this profession alive, and how long will it last? And then on many forums they say: "Now there is practically no such definition, the specialty has died out, there is no point in studying," etc. What do you say about this? Now I am actively studying this area, but when I look at such things, my hands fall.

Compared to the demand for applied goods, yes, we can say that it tends to zero. Only without system specialists, application workers will not be needed)

It will not die out in the near future, but the niche is specific, as already mentioned. Another thing is that specialists are more expensive, as in any narrow niche. So it’s like a choice here - to work at the start for a return later many times more, or right now start earning little money in some kind of web / unit.

Yes, just as few as before, globally there have never been very many of them, they cannot die out, because then the systems will all die out

System programming implies the presence of a developed industry around. You will definitely have to move to Moscow or St. Petersburg, if you are not there yet. Or at least to a big city where there is a specific employer.
