System administrator from scratch?

At present I work as so-called "enikeyshchik".
Advise please with what in general it is necessary to begin, the literature and td.
At the moment, I'm raising a domain (new) from scratch, but I haven't found any free books on active directory.

Everything on torrents is free, what are you talking about?
In general, administration is learned by practice, it would be better for you to change jobs.
And so - a guide to CCNA, Kurose, books on administering Windows (they are called that).
Read about Asterisk, Samba, Hyper-V, AD, corporate antiviruses.

The main skill of the administrator is to be able to search for information. Drive your question into the search, at least on the toaster. These questions come up several times a week.

What?
The very first skill that an administrator needs to master is the ability to search and find answers. Lots of free books. They will not necessarily be on the websites of shops or libraries, they are often on the websites of universities, on student websites with educational materials, on obscure archives. Yes, there they most likely will not be the latest edition - but the AD thing is not even very new, it's already twenty years old ...
Again, torrents :)

It all depends on what you want?
The easiest way (but this does not mean that it is easy) is to move admins from enikeyshik to Windows. Then to add there knowledge on Exchange, VmWare, MsSql.
Books? Well, any. Including purchased ones (I like to order, simply because I respect my eyes and this is my health, as well as show off before heifers when they come to me and see a mountain of abstruse books).

Personally, I started with technical support, ala enikeys, then I became a junior admin, and so on, all this time I watched video courses, of which there are a lot on the Internet, read various literature and specialized blogs, now there are quite a lot of them, for example, the same habr, pyatilistnik sterkin . I can advise literature that would be useful, there is both on networks and on operating systems.
