SVN-1.7 + Ubuntu

Has anyone already tried to install a fresh SUBJ [1] on SUBJ [2]?
There is only 1.6 branch in the repositories so far. When installing from source, something does not start. After removing all dependencies and make install, when trying to checkout (in my case, from assembla.com), it swears at an incorrect URL. Googling brought up the ./configure --with-ssl option, but that didn't work.

Nada install neon www.webdav.org/neon/ and configure it with --with-ssl
Then install subversion. He will pick up neon and ssl
