style tag not working in outlook android?

Can you please tell me if the style tag does not work in the mobile version of the Outlook application?
I tried to place both in the header and in the body - to no avail, the styles are completely ignored.
But if you place the styles inline, then everything works. But I wouldn't want to do that.
Can you please tell me how to solve the problem or what am I doing wrong?
