StartSSL - one certificate for HTTPS and for code signing?
Greetings!
I am programming in Delphi on Win32 and Win64, I have a website and an API server (on the same domain).
Now there is a material opportunity to buy a certificate.
For HTTPS connections, I bought certificates before (Thawte) - everything worked well.
My eyes fell on the "Swiss Knife of StartSSL", if I understand correctly, then by paying once 69 dollars for a year (or two) will I get the opportunity to use one certificate for two purposes?
Ie:
- HTTPS
- Object Code Signing
Has anyone dealt with this? Is everything so good and simple there, or are there some details?
Or maybe you need to buy a separate $69 certificate for each use case?
And why is it cheap?
At Comodo there, VerySign code signing certificates are much more expensive.
Thanks in advance!

You pay money for validating you. Validation is valid ;| year.
After validation during the year, you can create as many certificates as you like for any number of sites / domains / signatures, etc. After the validation period expires, certificates are not revoked, but you cannot create new ones.
There are different certificates for SSL and signing.
And cheap because a relatively new player on the market and is not supported (swears at an untrusted root) by ancient browsers / clients. Well, kind of a healthy alternative ;)
By the way, there is also a wildcard, so you can transfer the API to a subdomain.
