Starting a career in Europe?

Hello. It seems to me that questions like mine are already in the liver of many, but the situation is urgent, and the advice of an experienced person is needed. If anything - you can safely kick it) Here's the thing - I study at the Faculty of Computer Science at the Athens University of Economics and Business (in Greece, that is). It’s interesting to study, they give kind of useful things (discrete mathematics, mathematical analysis, computer mathematics, Java, C ++, etc.), but the trouble is that it’s tight (really tight) with work here, study for another 4 years at least, and they torment me doubts - but how in a year the euro will jump to 100 rubles (I live at the expense of my parents, in fact, I earn extra money on the little things) and I will go home. In short, everything goes to the fact that I can’t wait that long, and I need to quickly learn myself while the situation is still under control. Actually, the question is how to optimally go from a student, who knows the very basics to a person who is able to apply for a Junior programmer vacancy in some European company? Focus on learning from books and start a project of your own? Fork out for courses on Coursera and get a couple of certificates? All at once? Of the assets - a good English and student residence permit in Greece. Time is about a year. Thanks in advance for your replies.

it is not customary to work in Greece,
focus on the countries where it is customary - and everything will work out

While studying, if possible, then earn on freelancing.
Java, C++ won't help you much at the start (the niche is occupied by more experienced people).
You essentially need something web oriented.
If I was in such a situation, I would try to "python" (Python) on Odessa, all sorts of web-oriented projects.
Only PHP, in my opinion, WordPress, etc., is even faster, sometimes there are orders like:
Install LAMP on the server + install WordpRess, a theme for it, and a couple of plugins, they pay 30-50 bucks for it, maybe even more, but it’s difficult here, since no one has yet canceled the Chinese and Indians, they have a rate of 10 bucks an hour, and this work goes mainly to them.
Conclusion:
You need to make some kind of PHP project for your portfolio, I think you will have ideas.
Take a popular framework like Laravel or Yii2, Laravel, by the way, is more popular in the West than yii2.
EVEN faster - learn to make up, at the very least adaptive... and make up, make up, and make up again.
They already pay for layout by the hour according to your rate, I didn’t work on Odessa, so I won’t lie to you about rates, call people like Puma Thailand, they will be happy to help you set the right rate so that you don’t compete with the Indians, but and did not jump above the head.

Apparently you have a good uni. There you will get all the necessary knowledge in Computer Science. It is not necessary to look for additional courses, except perhaps for some momentary technologies that are of interest to you.
For a junior position, experience is not the main thing, but a strong knowledge of all the necessary technologies is very important. In this matter, your own projects will help you. There is nothing better than polishing new knowledge in practice. Do something for yourself, something necessarily complex and interesting, let this project of yours never see the light of day and remain in the form of some source codes and developments, but this will bring your knowledge into the system and allow you to behave confidently on any interview.
If you also want to earn money, then of course freelancing is almost the only option. Just keep in mind, freelancing is a pipeline of cheap and simple projects (usually). More complex and interesting things in freelancing can only be obtained by earning a name, clients and portfolio. It's up to you to choose whether to dive into it or not. IMHO, only if the finances pressed.

initially - strive to work in some other country, possibly in Europe.
English needs to be improved, and as for experience - start with small projects, orders, and choose courses that are relevant (that is, new items!)
Good luck!
