Smart filter by sections?

I display products on the page via bitrix:catalog, above them I display a list of subsections via bitrix:catalog.section.list
There is also a smart filter on the page.
Tell me where to dig when implementing the following functionality - when choosing a property in a smart filter, filter not only products, but also subsections. For example, we chose color = white and only those subsections that contain products with this property remained on the page.
