What is the sacred meaning of .Net Core?
I watched presentations on .Net Core and read reviews of developers who transferred their projects to it. In fact, Microsoft admitted that under Linux, much more Enterprise solutions were invented for building and deploying their solutions than under Windows (and the price will be lower), plus they gave developers the opportunity to write code for .net core on any platform. Those. in fact, they invented another Java and for some reason called it a breakthrough in the enterprise world.
Why do they say that in the near future .net core will become the standard for enterprise development if they are just duplicating what Java has had for 20+ years? What's the point?

Any task can be effectively solved both under core and under java. But as for me, in C # I need to do less gestures and there are moments that work more efficiently than in java (after all, C # is younger and took into account the mistakes of competitors). Plus, java is more inert, .net develops faster, responds faster to needs, and if we talk about enterprise, then I think that .net has more prospects.
