Slows down the screw on the laptop
There is a laptop Lenovo Y550 under WinXP SP3. There was a hard disk about 250GB. Everything is great. I bought a new hard drive for 750GB, installed the screw - noticeable brakes are noticeable. Blood freezes for a few seconds, and in general it is noticeable that many operations have become slower. At the same time, the circulation injector in hard blinks like crazy.
The disk is divided from under the screw installer into 60/350/300. NTFS. In bios sata mod = ide.
I ran the disk using MHDD - everything is fine.
Can anyone come across this? So far, I plan to put windows on sata mod = AHCI.
Can anyone tell me what is the optimal cluster size to choose? Or what else can be done in this situation?
UPD: The problem was solved by manually installing firewood on sata and transferring sata mode to ahci

Did you have a 7200 rpm disk for an hour before that? 5400 compared to it, an order of magnitude slower.
Maybe the disk is cut off too often? That is: I have a disk that saves energy, so it turns off within 5 minutes if nothing is using it.
Have you tried defragmenting?
Maybe some kind of utility for working with the HDD slows down?
On Lenova, I had their utility, which blocked the hard drive even with a slight wiggle. For example, you watch a movie with a laptop on your lap, you decide to fix it a little and the video stops for 1-2 seconds.
Carry out tests at least in the same HDtunes, if possible, connect the hard drive to the desktop and compare the performance. It may also just be a defective sample, so it needs to be tested. Post screenshots and let's see...
