skype paranoia

One day, the history in Skype on the working machine was suddenly synchronized + at that moment [2] appeared in the Skype title, hinting that the second copy of the account was running.

Changed the password and it seems like everything calmed down and was forgotten. Today I changed the status in Skype, and after half an hour the previous one returned - in fact, this happens when you run a copy on another device

If you do not have paranoia and persecution mania, this does not mean that you are not being followed :)

Why did you decide that the number in square brackets is the number of “running copies of the account”?
Personally, this way I indicate the number of chats (group and single) in which there are unread messages.

Perhaps you should contact Skype technical support with a request to provide you with a connection history. At one time, in response to such a request, I received a connection history with IP addresses, client version and connection time.

Remember if you have installed Skype, for example, on a mobile phone. Well, or maybe you logged into your account through your grandmother's computer. And, as a final option, check through the task manager (if we are talking about win), if you have two Skypes running in parallel.
Well, it doesn’t hurt to use DimaZZ’s advice and contact Skype for support. Even if it's paranoia, they will support you there. ;)

This could very well be a Trojan that launches a copy of Skype off screen in order to steal information or send spam.

Try sending yourself a message from another account and see if it gets accepted. If not, the client copy is not running anywhere.

I constantly have two Skypes running (from work and from home) from different ip addresses. It doesn’t show me that 2 copies of Skype are running ...
Try the option with a different Skype account to run. (register a test one for the left soap) - maybe Skype just doesn’t work correctly for you.
