Should you use secure freelancing deals?

I plan to make a large freelance order soon (about 100k rubles). There is a freelance service for safe transactions. On the one hand, this is safety, and on the other hand, 10k down the drain.
Have you used secure transactions? Were there cases when they really saved you from incompetent performers and scammers? Is it worth using the service of secure transactions or whoever wants to will always deceive?

A safe transaction is, first of all, peace of mind and confidence that no performer will be lost with an advance payment. Also, if they try to pass you outright bullshit, then if you bothered to get a full technical specification and discuss all the details in the secure transaction chat, then the problems can be resolved through arbitration.
I often act as the initiator of work through a secure transaction, both as a customer and as a performer. Further, according to the circumstances - either I complete the work at all, or I work directly.
A little unsolicited advice. Since 100k is a large amount for you, and you are not ready to spend 10k on your own peace of mind, then at least do not take the cheapest freelancer. The probability of throwing money down the drain will be reduced by an order of magnitude.

It's worth it, definitely.
But - to choose just anyone - it's definitely not necessary.
Regarding the% - let the performer pay a part, do not spend 10k on this joy.

It’s also worth it, because you don’t have specific connections with this person. Therefore, I offer you a couple of services to create a secure transaction
