Should October CMS be used in scalable projects?
Good afternoon.
Interested in the opinion of experts. My profile is frontend, didn't work with backend. Now there is a task that requires me and the backend. It is planned to develop projects for a corporate website and an online store with possible subsequent scaling. I wanted to know the opinion of experts to what extent solutions out of the box ala October CMS are suitable for this, or is it better to immediately master the Laravel and Django frameworks.
How much more heavily do CMS hosting load compared to frameworks? I read an opinion that October CMS is being developed by only two people and, accordingly, its development is questionable. I also read the opinion that this is a bike that instills bad practices. The problem with the framework is that I don’t have experience and knowledge of backend languages, the same php or python, I’m afraid that I won’t master it and I’ll make more bikes than those in October CMS (if they exist of course).
I would like to hear the opinion of professionals about this CMS. Thank you.

OctoberCMS is not a "out of the box" solution, it's a small add-on for Laravel and a small directory of plugins for it.
You will not get a full-fledged online store or a serious basis for a corporate portal out of the box.
If you are ready to write both on your own, using a successful architecture, you can consider October.
If you just want to adapt some popular CMS for yourself, you can simply cross October off the list.
It is generally recommended to use something standard. For, if later you quit, decide to hire more developers and so on, then it will be very difficult to find people for some poor frame work.
Well, either specifically choose something non-standard in order to attach the client to you.
Without experience in backend development, it’s better not to take it. October CMS is a flexible and convenient system, but for those who know how to design and implement. A corporate website, and even more so a store on October, is not an easy task.
October CMS is based on Laravel, so the question is a tautology - should I use Laravel, or is it better to use Laravel.
I would not create hemorrhoids for myself, if you are a front-end developer and only send a boss ... behind a backend developer.
For highly specialized tasks, it is better to take highly specialized tools. October is a little not created for that.
If you already know that you will have an online store, and you need something ready to develop, look better for something ready for an online store.
It is quite possible to use, especially when it comes to scaling. Didn't work with Django, development will take longer with pure Laravel.
As for the store, ModX is suitable if the site is rarely visited, about 4 people are on the site at the same time, which is on a regular shared hosting and that's it, the site slows down.
