Should jQuery Mobile be used for the mobile version of the site?
You need to create an adaptive website-calculator.
I have not made websites for several years.
Previously, I used for mobile versions - jQuery Mobile (there are touch events that make pressing a button on a smartphone much "tastier").
The question is what has changed over the years? Is it worth building a simple jQuery Mobile website in 2021, or are there other options?

Do what you want. The main thing is that you have a convenient and working product. Ordinary users won't say "yuck, this is Jacquery Mobile, I'm getting out."
Try checking out https://ru.vuejs.org/ (for working with data) + https://quasar.dev/ (for interface)
all sorts of "calculators" to do a nice job by focusing on the data instead of updating the DOM and tracking events
