Should I wait in Russian IT for feedback on myself after the interview?
Good afternoon!
I am either a junior or a middle. I can’t determine in any way, since there is no way to get feedback on my code and I’m still working, mostly freelancing, on small-medium tasks. I wasn't in a hurry to get to work, because I'm a self-taught programmer, who also has a source of income and enough to live on, so I decided to devote more time to learning.
So, recently I thought that the moment had come and began to quietly apply for vacancies. I went to an interview, where I asked with a direct question whether the company gives feedback after the interview, to which I received an assurance that it is mandatory (with emphasis). But, after the refusal to work, asking for feedback on Friday, they said it would be on Monday, repeating the question on Monday, received an ignore. I wrote only these two messages, I didn’t make scandals, I didn’t download rights.
After that, this question arose: is feedback a normal practice in IT and is it just me being so lucky or is it really so reluctant to give companies?
And if the latter, how then can a self-taught person objectively assess his level?

Not every interviewer (both HR and the manager) will report a refusal at all, more often they simply ignore a candidate they don’t like, and getting a detailed answer about the reasons is not a matter of lifting weight.
1) Human laziness. Calling and refusing, and even explaining to 9 out of 10 candidates is long and dreary (for some).
2) Reporting a refusal and personally explaining the reason is a psychologically unpleasant experience. Some people find it very difficult to do this. An exception is people who love to offend, humiliate someone, but there may not be objectivity in their words.
