Should I use an IDE (PATA) for the server?

SMART burns on RAID 0 sata disk on my home server, I want to replace two disks, I came across PATA disks, I think there is a significant difference instead of SATA?
drives 80GB

The speed difference is huge. Plus, they are noisier and you really won’t put more than two.
PATA is obsolete and died safely.

Since it is physically possible to connect PATA disks there, then this is probably something from rare antiques, since it is still not in the trash.
Therefore, out of love for the beautiful, it is quite possible to stick PATA disks in there, for the entourage.

It's not worth it, it's 2020, this technology is already outdated

If you also have 80 GB sat disks, then there is no difference - the mechanics are the same, changing the interface does not affect the speed (I specify - for this, the outdated generation)

Oh, necrophilia ...
The difference in speed - well, three times (downwards).
The difference in the complexity of the setup is once in ... eleven (up), fuck with loops, limit of two disks per controller, inability to assemble a raid (most likely)

Of course it is possible

Nowadays, 160 gigabytes is not serious. Especially for the server. There it is necessary to take a disk of the order of a terabyte.

It's not worth it, put Sata3 or SSD

Whether it is possible to put pata disks - yes.
Is it justified - no.
