Should I upgrade my iPhone 4s to iOS 8.0.2?

Initially, I was not going to move to IOS 8 at all, but last night the phone itself poked into the Internet and saw an update. Now the Settings shortcut has an annoying one on a red background, which is extremely annoying.
From here vypros (s):
1) It is impossible to remove this tsiferka without being updated?
2) Is it worth upgrading?

You can update. But most likely it will lag / hard lag. A friend updated 4s - complains about lags.

I have an iPad mini, the hardware corresponds to the iPhone 4S, the iOS 8 system is good, but our processors do not pull it, a lot of brakes, there is no such smoothness as on iOS 6 or iOS 7. It will work, but the pleasure of using iOS 8 will not deliver.

What firmware version do you have? I have an iPhone 4s, I have not updated it for a hundred years and it has 5.1.1 firmware version. Once upon a time, I jailed and installed the tweak Software Update Killer (Bigboss), which removes the notification of a new version on the "Settings" icon.
It seems to me that the more modern the firmware, the more glitches and brakes there will be on the iPhone (if we consider the iPhone 4s of course)
