Should I store sensitive/personal data on Google servers?

Our organization has accumulated data, goods, suppliers, buyers, our margin on goods, warehouse addresses. Our organization rests on these data, but these data are of interest only to entrepreneurs from our city, and are of no value to others. We store them in excel on the local computer, I constantly make backups.
A new commercial director came to us, he wants to see all the data in one place, he needs graphs, based on historical data, he will build a new marketing plan.
I tried to load this data into MS SQL Server, after that, through Excel using the powerPivot extension, I accessed the database and loaded the data. So this data was loaded almost the whole day. Plus, the data is very difficult to format.
The question is whether to store data in Google Spreadsheet or Google Fusion Tables? How about security? Can I only allow access for my users?

Three problems:

  • There is no guarantee that Google will not suddenly close shop.
  • What will you do if you lose internet access? The office is up.
  • What will you do if your account is hijacked? Close your business?

Reconsider if there is any information that should be classified as a trade secret.
On the one hand, if someone steals them, then it's not scary. It is scary if someone gets unauthorized access to the data and can make changes that will lead to undesirable consequences. Such actions from the outside can be done by both the current and former employee who knows the access passwords. Also, it cannot be guaranteed that logins and passwords will not fall into the hands of violators as a result of employees connecting to Google services from external PCs (home, Internet cafes, phones, etc.).
The main goal of information protection is to avoid damage. If you are sure that the information does not become of any value and in case of its leakage, distortion and other illegal actions in relation to it, your company, partners, employees will not suffer damage, then such information does not need to be protected and you can use different approaches to it. processing.

Of course not.
And - as an addition -
This is generally a wrong organization of work. What
think in the right direction. But such things should be done by professionals. Contact the experts. Then your commercial director will get what he wants.

Not worth it!
A huge number of people automatically have access to them.
If you store data, then only you and the hosting have access to it! (And then you can encrypt it, etc.).
And if you store data on a local site, then only you will have access to it =)

Thanks friends!
I use ms sql server in conjunction with power pivot. Since I don’t want to install management studio for commerce. I thought if I reflect the data in power pivot, he will be able to build the necessary reports for himself using pivot tables. So it seems that all the requirements should have been closed by now, but ...
On the network, power pivot showed poor performance, that is, I had to wait almost a whole day until the power pivot was loaded from the ms sql server database. Somehow I downloaded it, but I could not build a summary for years, quarters and months, since the date format in my database was different, and power pivot did not perceive it as a date. Although, when I took the top 100 queries and inserted into excel, it did great summary reports.
For these reasons, I had to abandon power pivot and msd sql server. Plus, we have the Internet in the office is distributed via wi-fi, which is not very good.
About a professional in this field. We had one such person, handsome, understands sql server and .net, understands the syntax and writes code normally, but unfortunately he did not understand me and did it his own way, although I showed him an example. On this basis, we quarreled and he left.
Why google? Because by uploading my data to the server, I could also make reports to buyers and suppliers that they constantly ask for. Plus, buyers very often ask to update the product catalog. I can use Google services, mainly spreadsheets, write extensions for it.
I have such data that if someone steals them, former employees or someone leaks a hundred, in this case, they will recognize our suppliers and product pricing. Plus, we will disclose our turnover, which is not very good. And there are no logins and passwords there, there is purely data for the commercial department.
What should I do to load the entire database into Google Fusion Table?
