Should I read books about obsolete versions of products?

Good afternoon!
I started learning Java, found a large number of questions and answers on the topic of where to start.
But all the materials are mainly about the 5th or 6th version of Java. Should I start by reading books about older versions, as they are well written and provide a base, or should I focus on up-to-date information, such as Oracle's documentation for Java?

sometimes a story is not only interesting to read, but also instructive, at least in order not to accidentally make such mistakes and maybe get some ideas or inclinations of thoughts for future more high-tech things. after all, it’s not for nothing that it was once conceived, but could not be done, due to the lack of technology, it’s just that what remained in dreams, then in the future or already now it can be implemented simply, quickly, cheaply, while surpassing the result and benefit at times , get success for the time ahead, up to future technology. history is useful everywhere, in any field, science and technology. it is necessary and useful to study it. the only thing is that it takes a long time. and another question - what to study something new or something old. you need to study everything in a complex, finding the golden mean!
