Should I notify the manager about a minor bug?
I found a minor bug (! in the payment system) that did not affect users, I have two ways:
a) silently fix the bug, deploy, tell nothing to anyone
b) inform the manager, he will create tickets for this, there will be several times in my reports this bug is mentioned, the director will find out - he will say that I am a bad developer (because I admitted the possibility of the existence of such a bug)

"If debugging is the process of removing bugs, then programming must be the process of introducing them."
E. Dijkstra
If sanctions follow in the office for a bug, such an office is in the swamp.
purely imho. I was both there and there. and here's what I'll say.
if you're not nailed to this office, then... honesty is the best policy.
so option A.
but the fact that you are afraid (sic!) to follow it says either that you are bothering too much, or about the toxic atmosphere you have there. in this case, it's time to turn your head around.
Do you have testers on your team?
Does your team have code review?
Bugs are a normal situation, and you just need to fix them and not be afraid to identify them.
For deploying to production without warning - I would fire at all nafig. The exception is that there is no one above you, and then you need to warn the team.
You never know what is happening at this moment on the sale about which you are not aware.
Even with pouring just into a common brunch - the same thing. There may be processes and situations that you are not aware of.
So in a situation like yours - either report it, or fix it locally and report it. But the first is better.
the basis of effective work is honesty, if the director is so impeccable why did he hire you?
I always talk about my jambs, and I assure you that they are much worse than a small bug in a payment order.
Well, I expect the same from the people I work with.
in general, even if everything goes according to the worst scenario, it will be clear that you have chosen the wrong company for work and quickly change it, you need to hide every jamb with the approach, taking into account the fact that only people work in your company and not a single robot or neuron stupid
For some reason, you did not list such an option:
c) fix the bug, and report this to the management.
will say that I am a bad developer (because I admitted the possibility of the existence of such a bug)
a) silently fix the bug, deploy, tell nothing to anyone
the director finds out - he will say that I am a bad developer
