Should I buy a used MacBook?
Guys, the issue is on the agenda. Need advice from advanced MacBook users
Actually, I have a PC, I'm thinking of selling it for 35k, since I'm a student and I need mobility, so I'll buy a laptop. Should I buy a MacBook for 30-40K (naturally BU) or should I look towards other laptops? I will mainly program and work on Photoshop, of course, surfing web pages and other ordinary operations. Thanks in advance :)
Guys, don't talk about power, I wrote that I will only program and for this I don't need extra power :) Maybe in the future I will program for Mac and iOS.
As for other laptops, I see no alternatives, and those that are worthy cost from 60k, it's expensive for me. MacBook I think to take up to 40k BU, so 13, and yes of course MacBook Pro

Of course, I am a noble poppy breeder and poppy evangelist, but I don’t even know here. The old firmware will most likely be:
1. Without a retina (tolerant)
2. Without an SSD (untolerant, because everything is terribly slow)
Plus, you will have to forget about mobility - there the battery will most likely be killed in the trash. A couple of hours of battery life at best.
Well, that is, for 40K, it seems, you can get a decent PC. And as there will be more money, you will take yourself a normal modern plug and you will get high.
Well, plus you were correctly written above - if some kind of software is used in studies, then with a probability of 99% it is only under Win.
And yes - air with SSD does any firmware without it in terms of speed / comfort. Working on old HDD-firmware in the same Photoshop is a hell of hells.
It is worth buying a 2015 MacBook Pro, the one with retina and SSD. Be sure to check battery performance. If the battery is dead, then ask for a good discount and take the poppy to a normal service center, they will put a new one there and you will be happy as hell.
Everything else is a waste of time and money.
The average obsolescence of Macbook Iron is 5 years. After 5 years, it must be changed because the company completely ceases to support it.
I'll let myself get in, perhaps with not entirely relevant recommendations, but you never know, it will suddenly come in handy :)
If the question of macOS is not an edge, I would take a closer look at ordinary inexpensive laptops. Still, there is a great risk to buy rubbish for such an amount, which is true for Apple technology (it’s like taking a Porsche Cayenne for 500 thousand rubles, sorry for the analogy), and for used laptops in general (when you often can’t just take and climb into offal in order to visually assess their condition).
Just the other day, I picked up a piece of iron for a friend within 30k for the office, I couldn’t find practically anything sensible in this amount, so I relied on “at least” an IPS matrix so as not to break my eyes (and not play roulette with the quality of the supplied matrices from the TN zoo) and not quite a dead processor (NOT-Celeron, Atom, etc.) with a reserve for an upgrade if the performance turns out to be completely sad. So it happened (everything very quickly rested on 4GB RAM and a native dead HDD), in connection with which the pieces of iron for another 10k were immediately purchased. Total:
- Lenovo ideapad 520-15ikb (IPS, i3-7100U, GF940MX, 4gb RAM, 1000gb HDD) = ~30-32k
- SSD Samsung 860 EVO 250gb = ~5k
- 8GB DDR4 SO-DIMM die (total 12, 4gb soldered on the motherboard) = ~ 5k
Total: ~ 41k
You definitely won’t suffer with such a config, rather the opposite. I was very pleasantly surprised how FAST it started to run (I speak as a home PC user with i7-6700k + 16gb RAM + SSD on board). As a bonus - quite a good video card, you can also play toys (Dota2 at 1920x1080 with maximum settings gave a stable 50-60FPS without any drawdowns).
The processor can be a bottleneck to some extent, but the latest generations of i3 are quite good. Approximately with such a config (only there was an old mobile i5-1.8ghz) I worked at the customer's site for several months (Intellij IDEA in two windows + a fairly large Java project) - I was quite comfortable and did not experience any performance difficulties.
Something similar "out of the box" in stores will cost around 45-60k.
Always bought only boo. I started with MBP 17 2011. A good device with a coupe with an SSD, but nothing mobile.
Next was Air 13 and now MBP 13 A1398. Decent device at the moment in terms of price / quality ratio on the market. I think it's the best for your case. The MacBook A1398 has its own typical malfunctions , but they have already learned how to treat them without serious investments. Make no mistake that the new models are all smooth sailing. For 40-45k you can take such a used device in good condition. In general, how to agree with the seller.
Before buying, I advise you to go and check the laptop at the service center, otherwise sometimes under the guise of good, they sell barely alive. Here is a link to the proof https://www.macmachine.ru/blog/kak_ne_nuzhno_pokup...
You should not buy a MacBook if you are a student. Personally, I got a poppy in my 4th year, at the university I used all sorts of programs that are not supported by MacOS, I installed Windows through BootCamp, but I don’t think this is a normal solution. Yes, and the Office package is not the same as we are used to seeing on windows in some places, for example, my Word did not support frames, it was terribly uncomfortable in coursework. In general, I rarely used a poppy, only for work. For 35-40 you can find some normal laptop that supports windows. And if you really want a poppy, then take it after school)

I disagree, especially since you are going to go further towards iOS.
Modern development environments plus emulators for mobile platforms are very gluttonous things, and if you want some kind of battery life, then you need to look at the year 2015-2016 at least ...
ps there was an experience when modern IDEA 2017 and Corei5 2012 completely killed the battery, t .to. online text analysis called instructions that the CPU did not support and mobile coding turned into an eerie sight...
Perhaps in the future I will program for Mac and iOS.then you definitely need a device from Cupertino, possibly used but certainly clean, not stolen with credentials, in order to get a developer account offsite - there are no other ways. A developer account costs about 100 euros.
By and large, there are 3 models that are worth considering and you can try to find in this price category:
MacBook Pro Mid 2012 13 "(but you need to replace hdd with ssd if the previous owner did not do this)
MacBook Air 11-13" 2013-2014 ( necessarily 8GB of RAM, preferably 256 ssd, although you can live with 128, but you should look for 256)
MacBook Pro 13 "2013-2014 (but it is unlikely that it will be for this price, plus they will work slower than Air, but the screen is better).
The first two in principle, you can find an option (I would stop at Air 2013-2014) It’s definitely not worth taking older models, they live even more or less with someone, but this is already on the verge.
Hey!
I recently bought a used Macbook air. minimum set. He is beautiful.
I am a web developer myself and started learning swift. Enough power.
I don't see any alternatives, and the ones that are worthy are over 60k/blockquote> After a few weeks of use, I started to despise Windows. She's uncomfortable and annoying. These alternatives will become obsolete in a year. My answer is definitely take it.
