Should I buy a motherboard with soldered Intel Celeron J4005 for the main computer?

I decided to upgrade, unfortunately nothing can be used from the old computer. The AM2 socket is hopelessly outdated, the DDR2 memory too, even the hard drive will have to be bought new because I have it as an IDE.
Therefore, you will have to buy everything except the case and the PSU.
At first I looked at various old XEON and Core2Duo, but then my eyes fell on the relatively fresh Gemini Lake series, manufactured using the 14 Nm process technology. This is a replacement for Atom processors, but for marketing reasons they decided to call them celerons and pentiums. I noticed that even the younger J4005 is catching up with some old Core i3 in performance, and the older J5005 is catching up with even the old i5, while they all have a newer graphics core, and support for RAM up to 16 GB. And the price of such a used board with a soldered processor is lower than if you buy an ancient Xeon or Core2 with a board.
I managed to find only the j4005 board for sale, so I think it's worth buying it?
Basically, it is taken to build HTPC, NAS, home servers, etc., but for me it will be the main computer.
The only thing I don't like is that a maximum of 512 MB of video memory can be allocated. Strange limitation. Why not 1-2 gigs? And maybe I don’t know any other pitfalls, and instead of a fast car by my standards, I will get a brake brick?
I plan to put 16 GB of RAM, until I decide on an SSD or SATA-HDD, there will be no video card.
I currently have an Athlon64 4800+, 2 GB DDR2, IDE drive, integrated GeForce 6100 graphics card, for comparison.

a question from the series "can I get there if I have 2 liters of gasoline"
first you need to understand what applications you use 80% of the time on your desktop, what OS you plan to have, etc.
I quite use the J5005 as a workhorse, but not as the main one, and everything suits me. ArchLinux + pycharm + browsers

This processor is at the level of 2009 Pentiums (in particular, the E6500 is faster), according to the passmark website.
Voice your budget please, it's not clear what to choose from)

It is worth taking only if you plan to do only web surfing, otherwise it will not suit you!
The maximum RAM is only 8GB, not 16!
Even when watching a YouTube video in 1080p, you may have problems!
And what's the point of upgrading to the worst option? ))
For video, you can give at least all 8GB!

Worked at one time on J4005, it is quite tolerable. The main SSD is at least 500/500.
There is a slight feeling of slowness when Pycharm + chrome + a bunch of little things are open. But the memory consumption at this moment is 9-10GB.

If you're not ready to pay extra for an i3, it's still better to consider a Pentium or AMD offerings, not Atom. For the desktop, cut-down processors are already uncomfortable, and in a few years they will become simply unbearable. It's not just about the processor - the manufacturer also saves a lot on the motherboard for it, it turns out very - and constantly! - unhurried combination.
The main brake in the current computer is the screw, so at least a small and cheap SSD is desirable. And memory, of course, in order to minimally refer to the screw in principle.
Maybe look at flea markets for something that can be simply optimized by adding memory and an SSD? I suspect it will be in any case cheaper than buying a new iron ...

Not worth it. Trimmings from yntol are not worth it.
Take the initial configuration on AMD Atnlon on a new socket, with DDR4. This will allow, if necessary, to upgrade to ryzen, buy additional memory and so on.
